Public Bank hosted two educational visits by students from UCSI University Kuala Lumpur and Curtin University Malaysia on 17 May 2018 and 4 July 2018 respectively.

Both visits started off with the screening of the Public Bank Corporate Video which was followed by talks by representatives from the Human Capital Management, Banking Operations Division and Retail Financial Services. 

The students were given first-hand knowledge as they were brought to visit the Dealing Room of Treasury Division, Red Carpet Banking and also the KL City Main Office Banking Hall.

In giving back to the community it serves, Public Bank donated a hefty sum of RM40,300 to Kajang Hospital in conjunction with the Bank’s Hari Raya Festive Charity Programme on 5 June 2018 of which RM20,000 was extended for the hospital’s daily operating and welfare costs, whilst the other RM20,300 was used to purchase hospital beds and equipment to cater to the needs of the increasing number of patients.

Public Bank and the National Blood Centre had once again collaborated in organising a blood donation drive at the Grand Lobby of Menara Public Bank on 28 June 2018.

174 donors comprising of staff, customers and members of the public turned up for this noble effort by donating their blood to save lives of those in need.

About 21 Management Trainees of the PB TalentMax Programme for Head Office participated in a corporate social responsibility project on 21 April 2018 by volunteering to do food pick-up and food preparation at the Kechara Soup Kitchen Society.

Public Bank hosted industrial visits by a batch of 70 undergraduate students from the School of Management Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on 1 March 2018 followed by another group of 40 undergraduates from Sunway University’s Actuarial and Financial Excellence Society on 4 April 2018.

Public Bank hosted a visit by a delegation of 32 participants from the Skills Development Fund Ltd (SDFL) of Sri Lanka on 26 April 2018 at Menara Public Bank. The delegation comprising Government officials from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and several ministries, employees of private organisations including banking industry and universities visited Menara Public Bank to have an insight of the operations of Malaysia’s best bank.

The generous staff of Public Bank Group brought Christmas cheers to the underprivileged as they once again went all out to donate towards the Charity Drive themed ‘Make A Wish This X’mas 2017’.

The two weeks long charity drive made it possible for four homes to receive a collective donation of RM40,000.

The four homes were Rumah SVP Klang, St. Barnabas Home, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan OKU Mesra Petaling Jaya Selangor and Rumah K.I.D.S. who received RM10,000 of which RM5,000 came from the staff collection and the other RM5,000 from the Bank.

The cheques were presented by Dato’ Razak Dali, Senior General Manager of Public Affairs Division, to the respective homes on 11 January 2018 at Menara Public Bank, Kuala Lumpur.

The festive season of Chinese New Year is not only a time for receiving, but also a time for giving.

Keeping that in mind, Public Bank had shared fortune and spread joy to the elderly at two old folks homes, namely Rumah Bakti Ci Hang and Wan Hing Homecare, when they visited the homes on 13 February 2018 as a part of the Bank’s Festive Charity Programme initiative.

Each home received a sum of RM12,000 in donation and angpows containing RM80 each were distributed to the 97 residents in both homes.
