Greening Pantai Remis, Perak with Central Region Staffs!
In our continuous efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and contribute towards the well-being of our planet, the Bank planted 900 mangrove trees as part of the Public Bank Group Tree Planting Project at Hutan Simpan Tanjung Burung Pantai Remis, Perak. This initiative is not just about planting trees, it is about fostering a healthy eco-system, creating beautiful green spaces and improving the air that we breathe in.
On 22 June 2024, Mr. Ng Boon Kem, the Regional Manager of Central Region along with his 50 dedicated staff volunteers, braved through the mangrove forest and got their hands and body dirty, literally, by planting mangrove trees. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Perak and Yayasan Hijau Malaysia.
This collective effort reflects our unwavering commitment towards environmental stewardship and generating a great impact for our surroundings. These mangrove trees also help to protect the coastline in providing a habitat for diverse wildlife, contributing to the overall health of our ecosystem and carbon sequestration, and generating an eco-system that supports the livelihood of fisheries for their income and food security.
Hats off to Mr. Ng and his Central Region team for their unwavering support and commitment!
