The distribution was also given to two selected musalla, (prayer room) for student activities and repairing of musalla infrastructure.
En. Syamsul Azuan Ahmad Fauzi, Chief Executive Officer of PIBB presented the mock cheque to En. Ahmad Tarmizi Bin Mat Salleh, Coordinator of Musalla Al-Najihin at the Dewan Bestari, SMK Bandar Tasik Selatan on 17 October 2022.
In his speech, En. Syamsul Azuan mentioned that “as an Islamic financial institution, our responsibility is not only to look after the interests of our customers but also to look after the interests of the society. One of the responsibilities is to distribute business zakat for the benefit of Asnaf throughout the country, including in Wilayah Persekutuan, under the auspices of Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP)".
Moreover, he has faith that Asnaf students will work hard in their studies, thus lessen the financial burden of their families once they are employed in the future and eventually become one of the zakat payers in time to come.
PPZ-MAIWP also expresses its appreciation to PIBB for its ongoing efforts in fulfilling the fourth pillar of Islam as the zakat paid to the Religious Council or the Zakat Collection Centre will help the Muslim community, especially the Asnaf who are in need. Asnaf is a party amongst which included the indigent and poor that is eligible to receive zakat aid collected from Muslims.
